Carbon ink w/brush'
Just keeping myself honest by showing what a mess I made of good drawings.  Smeared her face with a pass of my gloved hand, started reconstructing in ink, and really didn't get good line quality in general - oi. Now, then, if I were doing this for money, I'd just go in there and fix it.  Finished product wouldn't be as pretty as I'd like it to be, but it would be better than schlock - which is to say it'd be good enough.  So, yeah - I need the pressure of doing it professionally if it's going to get done. I mean done, done.

Not to make excuses, but, add to this that it's time to retire the old brushes and start using the new ones - I bought new ones for good reason.  The one I'm using is just plain worn out.

I might point out that I'm using for the first time Yasutomo sumi ink without shellac, my hands-down favorite ink, so far.  Much richer than Speedball Super Black and has a good feel when brushing it on, which is hard to describe.  And that's using a synthetic hair brush.  I have a feeling it will work even better with natural hair. It doesn't seem to dry as fast as ink with shellac, though I can't be sure if that's true, or not, without doing a side-by-side comparison.  A little pricey, so may not go with it when this bottle is done.  Still have to test FW Acrylic black, which isn't cheap, either, so we'll see.

In the corner at top I had a nice broken outline drawing that I closed up unintentionally when I inked it.  And below that are some tiny silhouettes.  According to Mike Hoffman, it's easier to draw come up with poses of full figures by starting at the size of a dime and developing them, than it is to do them at regular size - so I'm testing that to see if it works for me.  So far, I's say it does.

I like the girl's design. It's cute. :) I especially like the way her floppy boots and shorts break up the silhouette with their little details. One thing that bugs my eye though is that I feel like the sleeve on her left side should be warping around in the opposite direction.
